Makeup and Mani - Valentine's Day

Makeup and Mani
Valentine's Day

Hello, hello! Happy Valentine's Day to you all! Haha, or what's left of it, the day is pretty much over! I've been trying to get this post up for HOURS but this day has flown by and I was unable to pop into a spot that had wifi (yes, I've been toting my laptop while I've been out and about). This post was done completely at a whim. I was told by my Hubby that I should show ya'll the look I created with my mani and makeup and I thought...huh...what a cute name....so I've decided that I'll have a new style post for special holidays and occasions....Makeup and Mani! Yaaaaaay! ::happydance::

These posts will not be a review of any products, merely a show and tell of sorts! So heeeeeeeere we go!

THE MAKEUP

So for this Valentine's Day I wanted to go a little bold and bright but still super feminine. Here's the look I created:

I wanted to try something a little different but still keep the girly Valentinesy pinks! Here's what I used:

Face

  • Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer
  • Flower Beauty BB Cream in BB1
  • Beautyblender (in use with BB Cream)
  • L'Oreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Crayon Concealer in Fair/Light N1-2-3 and Fair/Light W1-2-3
  • Maybelline's Dream Wonder Powder in Porcelain Ivory 10
  • Real Techniques Expert Face Brush

What I Did:

I began with the Smashbox Primer all over my face, then using my Beautyblender (using the wetting technique of the blender) I stippled on the Flower Beauty BB Cream. I then applied the L'Oreal Concealer in N1-2-3 under my eyes and on any blemishes, and used the W1-2-3 outside my nostrils and under the very bottom of the darkest part of my under eye circles. I used the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to gentle blend the concealer in, then I lightly stippled what BB Cream was left on the blender right over the concealer. I set it all with some light dusting of the Maybelline's Dream Wonder Powder all over.

Eyes

  • Urban Decay's Primer Potion in Original
  • NYX's Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
  • BH Cosmetic's Day & Night 60 Color Eyeshadow Palette
  • 'Tini Beauty's Eye Cordial + Shadow Base in Spiced Rum
  • Starlooks Eye Lash Primer
  • Flower Beauty Zoom-In Ultimate Mascara in Intense Black
  • Julep Kajal Eye Glider
  • Ardency Inn's PUNKER World's Baddest Eyeliner
  • Emite Makeup Professional Eyelash Curler
  • L'Oreal Paris HiP Studio Secret's Concentrated Intense Duo in Cheeky
  • Real Techniques Brow Brush

What I Did:

I started with applying UD's Primer Potion all over the eyelid, then blending on NYX's Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. I then used BH Cosmetics Day & Night palette for my main selection of colors...

From the Day Side

  • 1 - Blended in right below my eyebrow for highlighting
  • 2 - Directly below highlighting right above the crease and slightly towards the inner corners of my eyes
  • 3 - Blended all in my crease and slightly above
  • 4 - From the center of my eyelid and out towards the outer corners as well as under my bottom lashes from the center to the outer corners (matching top)
  • 5 - On the center of my eyelid and the center below my bottom lashes

From the Night Side

  • 6 - On the outer corners of my eyes and up towards the crease
  • 7 & 8 - blended together on the very outer corners of my eyes
  • 9 - lightly pressed with the tip of my finger on the inner corners of my eyes

After applying the eye shadows, I brushed on 'Tini Beauty's Spiced Rum from the center of my eyelid and towards the inner corner of my eyes, blended it with my finger to set, then after it dried, applied again, and repeated about five times to intensify the pigmentation.

I finished the eyes with the Flower Beauty mascara, Ardency Inn's PUNKER eyeliner in a shortened cat eye, then used Julep's Kajal Eye Glider pencil (black shade) lightly lined right on the roots of my bottom lashes to darken them (but not on my waterline). I used my Real Techniques Brow Brush and L'Oreal Paris HiP eyeshadow Duo (which is totally missing the pink side since it shattered out AGES ago haha!) for my brows. I just lightly brushed in the shadow with the brush to keep the brows soft and used a clear eyebrow gel to set it (not shown in photo). Voila! Eyes done!

Cheeks

  •  Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer
  • Too Faced Flatbuki Brush
  • City Color Be Matte Blush in Fresh Melon
  • BH Cosmetic's Powder Brush (from 36 Piece Ultimate Brush Set)

The cheeks were kept simple but sweet. I used Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer for my contouring (sides of nose, hollows of cheeks, jawbone, under bottom lip). Then City Color's Be Matte Blush in Fresh Melon on the apples of my cheeks, applied with a Powder Brush from BH Cosmetics.

Finishing Touches

  • Pop Beauty Plump Pout Lipgloss in Peony Petal
  • Urban Decay's De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray
  • Prada Candy Eau de Parfum Spray

Fairly self-explanatory, haha! I used Pop Beauty's Peony Petal on my lips, Urban Decay's Setting Spray for setting my finished makeup, then spritzed on some Prada Candy perfume for a scrumptious finish!

But wait! What about my mani?! I'm so glad you asked....

THE MANI

Hooray for a fun and cutesy Valentine's Mani! I had so much fun with this one and it was super easy to do! I literally finished it in 20 minutes.

From Left to Right:
Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
Zoya PixieDust in Godiva
Julep Nail Color in Raegan
Konad Special Nail Polish in Black
(Not Shown: Nail Tek Foundation II - base coat)

I began with a base coat with my Nail Tek Foundation II, then two coats of Zoya's Godiva on all fingers except my ring finger and two coats of Julep's Raegan on my ring finger. Then I used two stamping plates for designs:

Bundle Monster's BM-411 for the X's and O's design and Bundle Monster's BM02 for the lips.

I used Konad's Special Nail Polish in Black with the X's and O's pattern on my ring finger over Julep's Raegan, as well as one set of lips on my thumb, then I used Raegan for the second set of lips on my thumb, and the X's and O's over Zoya's Godiva.

I finished the mani with a coat of Seche Vite! X's and O's and smoochies!

Seriously, I just think these lips are the cutest thing ever!

Well that is IT! There's my Valentine's Day Makeup and Mani! I hope you enjoyed the post, I apologize it's so late! (I tried ya'll, I really did, I've been trying to get this to you since this morning but it's been a busy day!). Now I know I'll be writing these special posts for special occasions so they'll be ready in advance!

Hope everyone enjoyed their Valentine's Day! Please leave me a comment and let me know how you spent your day, from going out on a fun date, to spending the evening at home watching some TV, please share!

This is my super awesome teddy that my Hubsters gave to me today (along with some amazing roses, a box of chocolate covered strawberries and a marble mocha latte from Starbucks!). This teddy is sooooooo special...want to know why? It SMELLS like chocolate!!!!! YES, a chocolate scented teddy! ::faints, swoons::. I don't know WHERE he found this amazing thing, but I can't stop hugging and smelling it! MMMmmmmmmmmm.

Thought I'd finish off this post with this ridiculous picture because of three reasons....1) I didn't mean to take a picture, my finger accidentally hit the touch button on my iPhone screen....B) You can see I was interrupted by some furry lil paws ::giggles:: somebody needed attention apparently....III) Can I just say how much I'm in LOVE with this heart blouse?! I bought it from Zulily online, super cheap! It's a black soft sweater with bronze-gold sequins all lined up in a slightly crooked heart. ADORE. My fingers can't stop playing with the sequins, they're so smooth!

Also, you may have noticed, but I changed up my hair color again! I've toned down most of the ginger red towards the roots of my hair, adding in some brown and adjusted it to a more rose gold at the ends. I'm so obsessed with rose gold at the moment! Yay or nay to the new hair? It's not a huge change, but I'm definitely itching to try out new shades.

Happy Makeuping and Mani-ing! XOXO
